Role & responsibilities

Job Title:

Job Summary:

Sales Representative /OFFICER – Modern Trade

Key Responsibilities:

• Modern Trade Account Management:

  Handle sales operations in key modern trade outlets such as Reliance Retail, Big Bazaar, D-Mart, Spencer’s, More, and other supermarket chains.

• Sales Achievement:

  Achieve monthly sales targets through effective planning, execution, and relationship building.

• In-store Execution:

  Ensure proper product visibility, planogram adherence, shelf space allocation, and timely replenishment.

• Promotions & Activations:

  Execute promotional activities, sampling campaigns, and merchandising plans in coordination with the marketing team.

• Stock & Order Management:

  Collect orders, ensure timely delivery, and monitor stock levels at the store/distributor level.

• Reporting:

  Maintain and share daily/weekly sales reports, competitor analysis, and market insights with the reporting manager.

• Relationship Building:

  Develop and maintain strong working relationships with store personnel, category buyers, and distribution teams.

• Market Intelligence:

  Monitor competitor activity, consumer behavior, and suggest new opportunities to grow brand presence.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Graduate in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred but not mandatory).
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Modern Trade Sales in the FMCG / RTE segment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven negotiation and account handling experience.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territory and work on weekends/holidays as per business need.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and sales reporting tools.
