Job Description

1. Design and Planning

  • Develop and review MEP designs, layouts, and specifications for mechanical (HVAC), electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and civil engineers to ensure MEP systems are integrated with the building design.
  • Conduct load calculations, energy analysis, and equipment selection for HVAC, lighting, power distribution, and plumbing systems.
  • Prepare and verify BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and cost estimates for MEP works.
  • Ensure all designs comply with building codes, standards, and safety regulations.

2. Project Coordination and Execution

  • Supervise and monitor installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems at project sites.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth execution of MEP works.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
  • Plan and schedule MEP activities to align with the overall construction timeline.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to design specifications.

3. Quality and Safety Management

  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards and safety protocols at site.
  • Identify potential design or installation issues and provide technical solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of all MEP systems to confirm operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for all MEP activities, inspections, and approvals.

4. Coordination and Communication

  • Liaise between different disciplines (architectural, structural, and civil teams) to resolve technical conflicts.
  • Attend project meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors to discuss progress and technical issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the project team during execution.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, inspection reports, and as-built drawings.

5. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance for MEP systems post-installation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems.
  • Recommend upgrades, retrofits, or replacements to improve system performance and energy efficiency.

6. Documentation and Compliance

  • Prepare technical documentation, manuals, and operation and maintenance (O&M) reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local authority approvals (fire, water, electrical, etc.).
  • Keep updated with new technologies and sustainable practices in MEP systems.

Key Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and design software (like HAP, Dialux, etc.)
  • Excellent understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Good project management and coordination skills
  • Familiarity with construction standards, codes, and safety regulations
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
