Medical Records Technician

Responsibilities

Maintain, update, and retrieve patient records in MRD, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and completeness.Support the hospital’s transition from physical to electronic records by working closely with the EMR implementation team.Ensure compliance with government regulations related to medical records (registration, statutory reporting, medico-legal documentation, etc.).Index and code records according to ICD or hospital-specific coding systems.Manage record retention, retrieval, and destruction processes as per policy and statutory requirements.Coordinate with clinical departments, nursing, and administration for timely and accurate documentation.Assist in audits, NABH/NABL compliance, and external inspections related to MRD.Train and guide staff on documentation processes, forms, and EMR usage when required.Ensure data privacy, integrity, and security of patient health information

Requirement

Hands-on experience in MRD operations (at least 2 years).Working knowledge of EMR platforms and willingness to adapt to new digital systems.Knowledge of government-related MRD tasks, including medico-legal records, mortality reporting, statutory submissions, etc.Familiarity with ICD coding and hospital medical documentation standards.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and hospital management software.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality awareness.

Diploma or Graduation in Medical RecordsMust have skills
