Position Title: Mechanical Engineer – R&D, Fabrication & Production Coordination

Reporting To: Design Head / Creative Director (Ettle Industrial)

Department: Design + Production Interface

Experiences: 1 to 5 years

Location: Ettle Workshop, [Pooja Enterprises] Sachin, Surat (Gujarat), India.

Employment Type: Full-time / Dynamic On-Site Role

Salary: CTC ₹200,000.00 - ₹3,50,000.00 LPA (Based on experience and skills)

● Ettle Living → Outdoor & hospitality furniture (for homes, verandahs, cafés, boutique hotels, schools, resorts, gardens).

● Ettle Industrial → Stainless steel & engineered utility furniture for factories and institutions (canteen systems, trolleys, ladders, lockers).

Objective

Translate design concepts into technically accurate, manufacturable, and cost-efficient products by bridging design, fabrication, costing, and logistics functions within Ettle.

Scope of Work

1. Design & R&D

● Convert 3D’s, design sketches and concepts into feasibility.

● Validate design feasibility — load, stability, joinery, tolerances.

● Prepare fabrication + production ready assemblies and prototypes.

● Test new ideas, fittings, and material combinations.

● Suggest improvements for manufacturability and cost reduction.

2. Technical Documentation

● Generate 2D fabrication drawings with correct dimensions, bends, and tolerances.

● Create laser cutting and CNC bending plans.

● Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and part libraries.

● Manage revision control and file documentation.

● Maintain and practice Quality check lists.

3. Production Coordination

● Supervise fabrication teams; ensure drawings are correctly interpreted.

● Review and approve first samples before production.

● Coordinate finishing (powder coating, polishing, stone, or wood integration).

● Solve shop-floor challenges related to accuracy or assembly or positional/operational fulfilment.

4. Costing & Procurement

● Prepare costing breakdowns (materials, hardware, fabrication time, finish).

● Compare vendor quotations and suggest value engineering.

● Track market prices for metals and finishes.

5. Logistics & Operations

● Plan and supervise loading/unloading and dispatch operations with smart packaging.

● Coordinate with logistics teams for deliveries and installations.

● Maintain safety standards for movement and storage of finished goods.

6. Cross-Department Collaboration

● Bridge communication between design, fabrication, accounts, stores and head of departments.

● Translate creative intent into clear engineering instructions.

7. Growth & Systems

● Build SOPs for recurring product types.

● Develop jigs, modular systems, and training material.

● Contribute to the R & D repository for future product lines.

Skill & Personality Fit

● B.E./Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with hands-on fabrication exposure.

● Skilled in SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Fusion / Rhino.(optional)

● Understanding of SS, MS, aluminum fabrication and finishing.

● Balance of creative reasoning and technical rigor.

● Capable of managing both desk and floor responsibilities.
