Position: Mechanical Engineer – Plumbing

Role Overview The Mechanical (Plumbing) Engineer will be responsible for the design, execution, supervision, and coordination of plumbing, drainage, and water supply systems for construction projects in Dubai. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of UAE plumbing codes, experience working with consultants and subcontractors, and the ability to manage both design review and on-site installation works.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plumbing System Design & Review • Review and interpret plumbing and drainage drawings and specifications. • Assist in preparing and modifying design/shop drawings for water supply, drainage, stormwater, and pump systems. • Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, DEWA, DCD, and other authority regulations.

2. Site Supervision & Execution • Supervise installation of plumbing systems: piping, sanitary fixtures, pumps, tanks, and drainage systems. • Ensure installations follow approved drawings and QA/QC requirements. • Inspect site conditions and resolve technical issues.

3. Material Management • Prepare material take-offs (MTO) for plumbing works. • Review and verify material submittals for compliance with specifications. • Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of materials.

4. Coordination & Communication • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, architects, and MEP teams. • Follow up on RFIs, NCRs, MIRs, WIRs, and technical submissions. • Conduct meetings and support site supervisors and subcontractors.

5. Testing & Commissioning • Supervise pressure tests, leakage tests, flushing, and disinfection. • Prepare testing and commissioning documentation. • Ensure systems function correctly before handover.

6. Documentation & Reporting • Maintain daily site reports, progress logs, and inspection records. • Prepare as-built drawings and O&M; documentation. • Assist with progress reports for management.

Required Qualifications & Skills • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. • 3–8 years of plumbing/mechanical experience (UAE preferred). • Strong knowledge of UAE plumbing codes and standards. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and MEP tools. • Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Attributes • Experience in high-rise, commercial, villa, or industrial projects. • Understanding of pumps, firefighting basics, chilled water systems, and MEP coordination. • Familiarity with UAE authority approvals (DM, Trakhees, DDA, Nakheel, etc.). • Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
