Position Overview

Mechanical Engineer (Inspection/Inspector)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inspections of mechanical components, systems, and assemblies to verify compliance with technical drawings, standards, and specifications.
• Review engineering documents, blueprints, and material certifications.
• Execute incoming, in-process, and final inspections, documenting findings, deviations, and corrective actions.
• Use precision measuring instruments and advanced inspection tools (e.g., Vernier calipers, micrometers, CMMs, NDT equipment).
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain proper records for quality audits.
• Coordinate with production, design, and quality teams to resolve non-conformance issues and recommend improvements.
• Ensure all products meet regulatory and safety requirements.
• Participate in root cause analysis and drive process improvements for quality enhancement.
• Train and mentor junior inspectors/technicians as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in inspection or quality control roles in engineering, manufacturing, or fabrication sectors.
• Strong familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, IS, API) and industry best practices.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Experience with standard inspection and measuring equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of Hindi and/or Marathi is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and in collaborative team environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in NDT (Level II/III), QC/QA, or similar quality-related disciplines.
• Experience with digital inspection reporting and quality management systems.
• Exposure to vendor inspection, third-party audits, or project-based inspections.
