Position: Mechanical Engineer – Electrical

Role Overview The Mechanical Engineer (Electrical) will oversee, coordinate, and execute electrical systems within MEP works for building and infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, UAE authority standards, and hands-on site experience. The candidate must manage design reviews, installation supervision, and coordination among MEP teams, consultants, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical System Design & Review • Review electrical drawings, layouts, SLDs, and specifications. • Assist in preparing/modifying shop drawings, cable schedules, and electrical calculations. • Ensure compliance with DEWA, DCD, and Dubai Municipality standards.

2. Site Supervision & Installation • Supervise installation of LV/ELV systems, lighting, power distribution, cable trays, conduits, earthing, and panels. • Ensure execution follows approved drawings and method statements. • Conduct inspections and resolve technical issues on-site.

3. MEP Coordination • Coordinate with Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Civil teams. • Attend MEP coordination meetings with consultants/contractors. • Raise RFIs and follow up on approvals.

4. Material Management • Prepare MTOs for electrical works. • Review and approve material submittals. • Coordinate with procurement for timely material delivery.

5. Testing & Commissioning • Supervise testing of electrical systems: insulation resistance, continuity, DB checks, generator/ATS tests. • Ensure correct documentation and compliance before handover.

6. Documentation & Reporting • Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and inspection records. • Prepare as-built drawings, O&M; manuals, and handover documents. • Support managers with technical and progress reports.

Required Qualifications & Skills • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. • 5–8 years of MEP electrical experience (UAE preferred). • Strong understanding of DEWA, DCD, and UAE electrical codes. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and MEP software. • Strong communication, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

Preferred Attributes • Experience in high-rise, commercial, villa, or industrial projects. • Knowledge of MEP coordination, load calculations, and panel scheduling. • Familiarity with approvals (DEWA, DCD, Trakhees, DDA, Nakheel, etc.)
