This role is critical to the success of our operations team, focused on delivering automation and process innovation for next-generation manufacturing. You will lead a team of mechanical designers and technicians, shaping both machine performance and engineering capability. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage end-to-end design and development of SPMs for new product launches in line with APQP timelines. Translate customer and stakeholder requirements into functional and efficient machine designs. Conduct structured design reviews to ensure reliability, quality, and performance of equipment. Drive continuous improvement , aiming to reduce cost of poor quality (CoPQ) and improve OEE (uptime, productivity, and quality). Identify and implement automation and cost-saving opportunities. Coach and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and technicians to build engineering depth and design maturity. Required Experience & Skills B.E. in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering. 14+ years of experience in design and development of high-speed, high-precision SPMs, ideally in the automotive or electronic assembly space. Expertise in mechanical and pneumatic system design and troubleshooting. Familiarity with EOL testing (leakage, electrical, vision-based AOI). Proficiency in CAD tools – Creo, Pro E, AutoCAD. Understanding of PLC systems (bonus). Working knowledge of statistical process control and quality assurance tools. Proven ability to manage cross-functional design projects and deliver on tight timelines. Who You Are A problem-solver who thinks beyond standard solutions.
