Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems, ensuring they meet functional, performance, and safety requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions from concept to production.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for prototyping and manufacturing.Perform engineering calculations and analysis (stress, tolerance, thermal, etc.) to ensure product integrity and functionality.Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the product development lifecycle.Conduct design reviews, DFMEA, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues.Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on performance and cost criteria.Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs.Review and revise existing designs to improve performance, reduce cost, or enhance manufacturability.Maintain design documentation, including BOMs, revision control, and engineering change notices (ECNs).Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company procedures.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.[2–5+] years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in [insert industry: automotive, consumer electronics, etc.].Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX).Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.Experience with tolerance analysis, GD&T, and DFM/DFA principles.Knowledge of engineering simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, FEA, CFD) is a plus.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.Experience with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter).Familiarity with additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping tools.Previous experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, aerospace).
