Material Manager

As an Inventory and Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for managing the inventory, purchasing, quality control, warehouse operations, reporting, and compliance for the company. Your key responsibilities will include: - **Inventory Management:** - Monitor and manage stock levels of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods to prevent shortages or overstocking. - Perform regular physical inventory checks to ensure accuracy of stock records. - Implement inventory control systems to track material movement and usage. - **Purchasing and Procurement:** - Identify and source reliable suppliers for raw materials based on quality, price, and delivery time. - Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchasing. - Place purchase orders and manage delivery schedules. - **Quality Control:** - Inspect incoming deliveries of raw materials to ensure compliance with quality standards. - Implement procedures to monitor and address potential quality issues with stored materials. - Maintain proper storage conditions for perishable goods, including temperature and humidity control. - **Warehouse Operations:** - Supervise warehouse staff responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials. - Optimize warehouse layout and storage practices to maximize space utilization. - Manage the rotation of stock to ensure first-in-first-out (FIFO) principles. - **Reporting and Analysis:** - Generate reports on inventory levels, usage, and cost analysis to inform production planning. - Identify areas for cost reduction and inventory optimization. - Collaborate with production teams to forecast material needs based on production schedules. - **Compliance and Safety:** - Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and standards related to storage and handling of food products. - Implement safety procedures in the warehouse to prevent accidents. **Required Skills and Qualifications:** - Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations. - Experience in inventory management systems. - Knowledge of supply chain management principles. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with production teams and suppliers. - Analytical skills to interpret data and identify trends. - Leadership abilities to manage a warehouse team.
