Material Manager

As a Raw Material Manager in the Forging division of the Production department, your role involves overseeing the management of raw materials to ensure a consistent supply for production operations. Your core responsibilities include: - Forecasting and planning: Analyze production schedules to forecast material needs accurately. - Procurement: Manage purchase orders, negotiate prices with vendors, and evaluate supplier performance. - Inventory management: Monitor inventory levels, implement control strategies, conduct cycle counts, and manage stock movement efficiently. - Supplier relationship management: Build strong relationships with suppliers and develop a global supply base. - Logistics coordination: Collaborate with production, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure timely material delivery. - Compliance and quality: Ensure all material handling operations comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. - Data and reporting: Track material usage, costs, and stock levels, and generate operational performance reports. To excel in this role, you are expected to have the following qualifications and skills: - Education: A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required. - Technical skills: Proficiency in ERP and MRP systems like SAP or Oracle is essential. - Supply chain knowledge: Understanding of supply chain processes, inventory management, and demand forecasting. - Leadership: Ability to lead and manage a team effectively. - Analytical and problem-solving: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and solve problems. - Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective internal and external coordination.
