Role Overview: As an Entry Level Management position in the kitchen at JW Marriott Hotel Kolkata, your primary focus will be on successfully achieving daily objectives. You will assist in leading staff members while personally contributing to various kitchen areas such as food production, purchasing, and kitchen sanitation. Your role will play a crucial part in ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operating budget. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain food handling and sanitation standards to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment. - Oversee the production and preparation of culinary items, coordinating with Restaurant and Banquet departments for service and event timings. - Lead shifts by personally preparing food items and ensuring they meet required specifications. - Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and kitchen workers, checking the quality of raw and cooked food products. - Support daily shift operations, ensuring employees have necessary supplies and uniforms, and monitoring staff levels to meet operational needs. - Participate in employee performance appraisal process, provide feedback, and conduct training when necessary. - Communicate departmental goals effectively to achieve desired results and support new menus, concepts, and promotions. - Handle guest problems and complaints, empowering employees to deliver excellent customer service within guidelines. Qualifications Required: - High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area. OR - 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major, with 2 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
