A Dairy Products Marketing and Sales Head is responsible for developing and implementing strategic business plans to drive growth, increase market share, and achieve sales targets. Key duties include leading the sales and marketing teams, managing brand strategy and campaigns, overseeing distribution networks, fostering key account relationships, and analyzing market data to make strategic decisions. The role requires experience in FMCG/dairy sales, strong leadership, strategic thinking, and strong analytical and communication skills..
Key responsibilities Strategic Planning: Develop and execute long-term sales and marketing strategies, including setting sales targets and budgets, to achieve business objectives. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage both sales and marketing teams, including regional sales heads and area managers, to ensure they are motivated and effective. Brand and Marketing: Drive brand positioning, identity, and communication; lead integrated ATL, BTL, and digital marketing campaigns; and collaborate with R&D on product innovation and launches. Sales and Distribution: Oversee the expansion and management of distribution networks, ensuring strong coverage and availability across various channels (modern trade, retail, HoReCa). Channel Management: Manage and strengthen relationships with distributors, retailers, and key accounts, ensuring effective execution of promotions, schemes, and visibility plans. Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities, adjust strategies, and make data-driven decisions. Financial Management: Manage the brand's P&L, ensure marketing investments are ROI-driven, and contribute to financial performance by identifying areas for cost reduction and profit enhancement. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments like supply chain, finance, and operations to align on objectives and ensure efficient execution of plans. Qualifications and skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is often required, with a strong preference for experience in FMCG or the dairy industry. Proven experience (often 10+ years) in sales and marketing, with a track record of success in brand building, innovation, and channel management. Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Experience with different sales channels, including modern trade, retail, and digital platforms. Data-driven decision-making abilities and proficiency with relevant software.
