Job Summary:

Manager Tendering (Coal Logistics)

Key Responsibilities:

Tendering & Bid Management:

• Analyze and evaluate coal logistics tenders from government agencies (like NTPC, SCCL, TANGEDCO, etc.) and private sector clients.
• Prepare and submit Expression of Interest (EOI), Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quotation (RFQ), and final bids.
• Ensure all tenders are submitted on time with accurate documentation and compliance with terms and conditions.
• Coordinate with legal, finance, operations, and technical teams to gather required inputs for bid preparation.

Costing & Commercial Evaluation:

• Prepare detailed cost sheets and commercial proposals for coal procurement and logistics projects (including transportation via road, rail, sea).
• Evaluate price trends, transport tariffs, port handling charges, and other cost components for accurate costing.
• Monitor market rates and competitor pricing to ensure bids remain commercially competitive.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain a database of tender submissions, bid outcomes, and feedback for continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with tender guidelines, government norms, and internal policies.
• Liaise with government e-tender portals (e.g., MSTC, GeM, CPP) for downloading and uploading tender documents.

Stakeholder Coordination:

• Engage with logistics providers, port operators, coal suppliers, and transporters for gathering inputs and quotations.
• Coordinate with project execution teams for understanding capacity, timelines, and operational feasibility before bid submission.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education:

  Graduate in Engineering / Commerce / Logistics / Supply Chain. MBA or PG Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain is an added advantage.

• Experience:

  Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in coal logistics, tendering, and bid management.
• Strong understanding of coal supply chain, port and rail logistics, transport economics, and government procurement systems.
• Proficient in working on e-procurement platforms and government tender portals.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and document handling.

Preferred Background:

• Experience in companies engaged in coal logistics, EPC, mining, or power generation.
• Familiarity with bidding for PSU tenders and coal transportation contracts.
