Job Description

Key Responsibilities:1. Material Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of the stores department, ensuring timely receipt and issue of raw materials, components, consumables, tools, and finished goods.
  • Maintain proper storage of valve components (castings, forgings, fasteners, trims, etc.) to prevent damage or mix-up.
  • Ensure FIFO/FEFO system is followed strictly.
  • Verify GRN (Goods Receipt Note) against purchase orders and supplier invoices.

2. Inventory Control:

  • Maintain accurate stock records in ERP / inventory software.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual stock audits and reconcile with accounts.
  • Identify slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete items and prepare reports for management review.
  • Optimize stock levels to avoid both overstocking and stockouts.

3. Coordination with Other Departments:

  • Coordinate with Production, Purchase, and Quality departments for timely material availability and inspection.
  • Support planning department for material requirement planning (MRP).
  • Liaise with dispatch/logistics for smooth delivery of finished valves and components.

4. Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain all material inward/outward documentation as per ISO and internal audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and safety norms during handling and storage.
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of store equipment like weighing scales, forklifts, etc.

5. Team Management:

  • Lead and supervise storekeepers, helpers, and material handlers.
  • Train team members on 5S, material identification, ERP transactions, and safety practices.
  • Monitor labor productivity and enforce discipline.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of valve components, materials, and specifications.
  • Expertise in inventory management systems (ERP, Tally, etc.).
  • Good leadership, planning, and analytical skills.
  • Sound knowledge of ISO / 5S.
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Qualification: Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or Graduate with Materials Management specialization.
  • Experience: 8–15 years in a manufacturing industry, preferably in valve or heavy engineering sector.
  • Software Skills: ERP, MS Excel, MS Office.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
