Role & responsibilities

Manager QFD

• Lead the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) process, acting as the primary conduit for the "Voice of the Customer" (VoC) throughout the product development lifecycle
• Customer Requirement Analysis: Design and execute a comprehensive VoC strategy.
• Lead technical and feature-based analysis of competitor products to establish performance targets and identify opportunities for strategic differentiation.
• Develop and deploy QFD-based strategies to drive competitive advantage, enhance customer satisfaction (NPS), and increase market share.
• House of Quality (HoQ) Matrix Development: Facilitate and lead cross-functional teams (Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality) in the rigorous development of the HoQ matrix and subsequent QFD deployments.
• Ensure that QFD outputs are seamlessly integrated into the product design, development, and validation stages, directly influencing technical specifications and process controls.
• Proactively use QFD outputs as a key input for Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential product and process risks early in the development cycle.
• Act as a central facilitator, breaking down organizational silos and fostering a collaborative environment focused on a unified understanding of customer needs.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for the product development process. Report on progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior leadership.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of the QFD process, decisions, and outcomes to ensure traceability and create a repository of knowledge for future projects.
• Develop and deliver training on VoC, QFD, and related quality tools to build organizational capability and embed these practices into the company culture.

Preferred candidate profile

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering

  , or a related technical field. (Master’s degree with an MBA will be an added advantage
• Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in a product development, quality engineering, or systems engineering role within a manufacturing environment.

• Six sigma Black Belt with PMP certification will be preferred

• Should have demonstrable track record of

  successfully leading multiple QFD/VoC projects from concept to launch.

• Should have Expert-level knowledge of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and the full range of Voice of the Customer (VoC) techniques.
• Should have strong proficiency in related

  quality and design tools such as FMEA, Pugh Matrix, Kano Model, and Design of Experiments (DOE).

• Should have practical experience with

  statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).

• Exceptional facilitative leadership and influencing skills, with a proven ability to lead in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• ASQ certified Quality Engineer / Reliability Engineer
