Manager - Procurement

As a Manager Procurement at Evonik India Pvt Ltd, your role involves overseeing procurement activities at the Catalyst plant in Thane and Dombivli, ensuring the acquisition of both direct and indirect items in alignment with global Procurement policies. Your responsibilities include: - Managing procurement operations at the Catalyst plant, overseeing both direct and indirect procurement activities. - Supervising 2 operational procurement colleagues, one for direct procurement and one for indirect procurement. - Procuring and approving raw materials, packing materials, and items for maintenance, projects, departments, and waste disposal. - Handling all works/labor contracts and ensuring proper waste disposal for plant-produced items. - Preparing monthly MIS reports and presenting them to relevant teams. - Optimizing costs through negotiations, discounts, new sourcing, and incentives within the policy framework. - Ensuring timely deliverables, stock availability, and meeting end user department requirements. - Managing the Vendor Management process, including initiation, selection, and performance monitoring. - Collaborating with global colleagues on common work areas and short-term projects. - Supporting global business decisions and enabling category buying under the global buyer. Qualifications and Experience: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in the chemical industry with an Engineering degree. Postgraduate degree is a plus. - Proficiency in SAP, exposure to direct and indirect procurement, technical proficiency, and strong communication skills. - Fluency in English, proficiency in MS Office, and experience in people management and stakeholder engagement. Technical Knowledge: - Understanding of manufacturing processes in chemical companies, working with contracts, chemical supplier market knowledge, and experience in exports/imports of chemicals. - Familiarity with chemical products/plants is advantageous for this role.,
