Company: SFM is a custom furniture & woodworking shop that specialises in wooden residential & restaurant furniture

Opportunity Overview

SFM is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Manager, Operations to oversee critical production, quality, and supply chain functions & lead our team of master craftsmen

This hands-on leadership role requires a blend of operational expertise and technical acumen to drive efficiency and ensure excellence across operations

Key Responsibilities

As our Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in the successful delivery and quality control of our projects. Your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Production Leadership & Project Delivery

  • Team Management & Coaching: Directly lead the teams to maintain a high-performance & safety-conscious culture.
  • Execution Oversight: Manage project schedules and track workflow to ensure all projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards as per shop drawings
  • Process Optimization: Continuously identify and implement improvements to production workflows, reducing cycle times and driving down operational costs. ( Kaizen )

2. Purchasing and Supply Chain Support

  • Inventory and Material Planning: Assist in managing inventory levels to ensure the timely availability of material while maintaining optimal cost-efficiency.

3. Quality Assurance and Control (QC)

  • QC Protocol Implementation: Establish and manage robust Quality Control procedures across all stages of production to guarantee the highest product standards.
  • Corrective Action Leadership: Lead investigation and root cause analysis efforts for all quality non-conformities, implementing and sustaining permanent corrective actions ( Root cause analysis, 5-Why approach )

Qualifications and ExperienceRequired Qualifications

  • Experience (2+ years) in an operations role, preferably in the furniture industry
  • Meticulous attention to detail in order to identify defects, if any ,
  • Highly organised individual - who can assist in implementing organisational tactics in order to drive efficiencies
  • A technical bent of mind - an inquisitiveness regarding timber ( our primary material ) and it’s nuances. A willingness to master technical skills ( including knowledge of specialised machinery & civil work ) is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Education is Highly Preferred: A Bachelor’s degree or relevant diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Production) or a related technical discipline
  • Practical experience supporting or managing purchasing, procurement, or supplier management processes
  • Preference will be given to candidates from the furniture or woodworking industry

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
