Position Summary:

This position will be designated as Manager, Manufacturing Engineering with strong focus on process selection, material selection, development of jigs, fixtures, and gauges for Mechanical commodities like machining, forging, casting and the key role will be to support procurement and support in establishing reliable / robust processes at supplier’s end. The incumbent should have hands on experience in CAD/ CAM, CMM etc. and modern machining techniques. The incumbent would be required to operate out of Delhi Office but this position may shift to Bengaluru in long term.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support procurement initiatives in line with India Supply Chain Strategy in terms of supplier identification, supplier audits, new value stream establishments and necessary coordination among stakeholders.
• Help in benchmarking suppliers, best manufacturing practices and techniques.
• Propose innovative tools and techniques for assuring requisite Quality Cost & Delivery objectives.
• Compliment in carrying out Supplier Assessments from manufacturing capability perspective.
• Support the new developments from technical aspects in terms of raw material equivalents, coordination of technical clarifications, standards equivalence etc.
• Support ‘First Article Inspections’ for new / modified / re-launched Products.
• Support Corrective Action effort for discrepant goods / services / documentation.
• Interpret Quality related contractual terms and verify contract compliance, as required.
• Resolution of supplier performance short-falls and Analyze supplier performance metrics along with corrective / improvement actions (supplier development).
• Carry out Supply Chain Audits, be accountable for timely resolution / management of consequential Non-Conformances, and work with Internal Stakeholders to continuously improve overall Supply Chain Performance.
• Use the Supplier Performance Improvement process to support supplier development where appropriate.
• Create center of excellence in Interpretation of drawings & 3D models w.r.to manufacturing feasibility. Should be able to operate & maintain design station (Solid works)
• Should be able to review drawings & provide inputs on ease of manufacturing.
• Able to Validate designs of Jigs, Fixtures and Gauges.
• Exhibit a culture of best practice sharing and knowledge exploitation within own area.
• Engages in and actively volunteers for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
• Participates in and sustains 5S Standards.
• Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
• Must be able to travel min 30% of the time.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education/Experience & Skills:

• E./ B.Tech / 4 years specialized diploma equivalent to B.Tech.
• Additional qualifications in material management, project management or quality systems would be preferred.
• Preferably 15-20 years’ experience in manufacturing environment, related quality assurance, operations in B2B environment, global stakeholder management, exposure to technical purchasing.
• Preferable experience in mature sectors like automotive, machine manufacturing, engineering or similar.
• Strong communication skills required, with ability to manage a wide variety of stakeholders and present to senior business representatives.
• Ability to network and coordinate activities across stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to manage internal and external relationships.
• Impeccable morals & values to be viewed as a reliable colleague.

Working Conditions:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
• Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
