Job Description – ETP, Boiler, STP & Pollution Control Technician

Position Title: Technician – ETP, Boiler, STP & Pollution Control

Department: Utility / Engineering / Maintenance

Reports To: Utility / Plant Manager / Maintenance Head

Should have knowledge about Electrical maintenance

Location :- 39, Chandapura - Anekal Rd, Marathi Layout, Chandapura, Anekal, Karnataka 562106, India

  • Experience :- 5 Years in same field .
  • Salary -30k – 40k

Key Responsibilities

1. Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP):

Operate and monitor ETP equipment including pumps, clarifiers, aerators, filters, dosing units etc.

Carry out treatment processes such as neutralization, coagulation, aeration, filtration and sludge handling.

Maintain correct dosing of chemicals and ensure compliance with effluent discharge norms.

Record parameters (pH, TDS, COD, BOD, MLSS etc.) and prepare daily log sheets.

Conduct routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance of ETP equipment.

2. Sewage Treatment Plant (STP):

Operate STP systems including bar screens, aeration tanks, blowers, clarifiers, and chlorination units.

Monitor water quality parameters and ensure treated water meets statutory norms.

Perform desludging, chemical dosing and disinfection activities.

Troubleshoot breakdowns and ensure continuous operation of STP.

3. Boiler Operations:

Operate, monitor and maintain industrial boilers as per safety standards.

Maintain water levels, steam pressure and fuel efficiency.

Perform blowdowns, water softener operation and monitor boiler water quality.

Ensure compliance with boiler operation rules and maintain logbooks.

Assist in annual boiler inspection and certification.

4. Pollution Control & Compliance:

Operate and maintain Air Pollution Control Devices (APCD) like scrubbers, bag filters, dust collectors.

Monitor stack emissions, ambient air quality, and ensure compliance with Pollution Control Board (PCB) norms.

Support in record keeping, data logging and submission of environmental reports.

Report deviations, leakages or malfunctions that may cause environmental hazards.

Assist during internal/external environmental audits and statutory inspections.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Environment Engineering.

Experience: 2–5 years in ETP, STP, Boiler or Pollution Control systems (preferably in process/chemical/textile/engineering industry).

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of pumps, blowers, dosing systems, and control panels.

Familiarity with water & wastewater analysis parameters.

Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

Understanding of environmental norms & safety procedures.

Soft Skills:

Attention to detail and safety compliance.

Record-keeping and reporting ability.

Problem-solving and teamwork.
