Role Overview / Purpose of the Role

The Corporate Lawyer will work closely with the Director/Owner as a trusted legal advisor, independently managing all legal and compliance matters. The role involves coordinating with empaneled external lawyers, overseeing contracts and regulatory affairs, and providing strategic legal guidance to safeguard the companys interests and minimize legal risks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Serve as the key legal point of contact for the Director/Owner, providing end-to-end legal support and strategic counsel on business decisions.

2. Independently draft, review, negotiate and finalize contracts, agreements, and other legal documents while ensuring alignment with company interests.

3. Liaise with empaneled external law firms for high-stakes litigation, regulatory submissions, investigations, and other specialized legal issues; coordinate legal strategies and track ongoing cases.

4. Review and summarize advice/opinions from external lawyers for the Director/Owners decision-making.

5. Conduct legal due diligence for new business ventures, strategic partnerships, and investments.

6. Represent the company before regulators or courts if required, always in alignment with guidance from the Director/Owner. Assist in responding to legal notices and correspondence.

7. Maintain proper documentation, legal records, and filing systems for all legal and corporate matters.

8. Keep the Director/Owner informed of new laws, amendments, and regulatory developments impacting the organization.

9. Support the Director/Owner in managing legal aspects of investments, partnerships, property transactions, and M&A activities.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills:

• Advanced contract drafting, review, and negotiation abilities.
• Experience managing external law firms and synthesizing complex legal advice for leadership stakeholders.
• Familiarity with corporate governance, board matters, and owner-managed business legal support.
