Position Title: Manager / Engineer – Sheet Metal Fabrication
Department: Manufacturing / Fabrication
Location: COIMBATORE
Reports To: Plant Head / General Manager

Role Summary

The Sheet Metal Fabrication Manager/Engineer will oversee and manage fabrication processes including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly of sheet metal components. This role ensures production efficiency, quality standards, and timely delivery of fabricated parts for power control systems, automotive, or industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

Production Oversight

• Plan, schedule, and supervise sheet metal fabrication operations.
• Ensure optimal utilization of CNC machines, press brakes, shears, and welding equipment.
• Implement quality control checks at each stage of fabrication.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
• Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Optimize material usage to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency.
• Train and supervise operators, welders, and technicians.
• Foster a safe and collaborative work environment.
• Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into fabrication processes.
• Collaborate with design and R&D teams for manufacturability improvements.
• Liaise with suppliers for raw material procurement.
• Ensure timely availability of sheet metal, consumables, and tools.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering.
• 7–12 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication (preferably in power systems, automotive, or heavy engineering).
• Hands-on expertise with CNC cutting, bending, welding, and finishing processes.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and ERP systems.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
