The Labour Law Consultant will be responsible for managing client queries, providing expert advisory services, and ensuring compliance with labour law regulations. The role will include periodic updates on labour codes, handling litigation, managing inspections and notices, and conducting webinars and training sessions on relevant labour law topics, including POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advisory and Query Management

    :
  • Provide comprehensive advisory services to clients regarding labour law compliance, HR practices, and employment regulations.
  • Address client queries related to employment law, workplace compliance, POSH policies, and other related topics.
  • Offer solutions and actionable advice based on the latest regulatory developments.
  • Periodic Labour Law Updates

    :
  • Monitor changes in labour laws, labour codes, and employment legislation.
  • Prepare and disseminate periodic updates on relevant labour regulations, amendments, and compliance requirements to clients.
  • Ensure clients are updated on changes affecting their industry and business operations.
  • Labour Codes

    :
  • Stay informed about the latest Labour Codes and their implications for employers.
  • Assist clients in aligning their practices with updated labour codes, ensuring legal compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Guide clients on the implementation of new policies in line with the Labour Codes.
  • Client Advisory and Consulting

    :
  • Provide strategic consulting services to clients regarding labour law risks, mitigation strategies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design labour law compliance strategies that meet the needs of the client’s business environment.
  • Litigation Management

    :
  • Manage labour law-related litigation cases on behalf of clients, providing legal representation where necessary.
  • Work with legal teams to prepare documentation, review cases, and manage disputes in line with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies to protect client interests.
  • Inspection & Notice Management

    :
  • Oversee and manage government inspections, audits, and notices related to labour law compliance.
  • Prepare responses to labour authorities and ensure timely and accurate submission of all required documents.
  • Guide clients through the inspection process and ensure smooth handling of all legal or administrative requirements.
  • Alert Management

    :
  • Develop and maintain an alert system to ensure clients receive timely notifications about compliance deadlines, legal updates, and inspection schedules.
  • Ensure proactive communication to avoid penalties and lapses in compliance.
  • Labour Law/POSH Trainings & Webinars

    :
  • Organize and conduct training sessions and webinars on labour laws, including the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Educate clients and their employees on key compliance issues and best practices.
  • Ensure training materials are up to date with the latest legislative changes and industry trends.

  • Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM) or a related field (HR, Business, etc.).
    • Must have strong knowledge of C&B and legal background.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in labour law advisory, compliance, and litigation.
    • Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, labour codes, POSH, and workplace regulations.
    • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
    • Experience in managing client queries, delivering strategic advice, and handling litigation.
    • Ability to conduct training and webinars effectively.

     

    Preferred Skills:

    • Proficiency in labour law litigation processes.
    • Must have strong knowledge of C&B and Legal Background.
    • Experience in handling inspections and regulatory audits.
    • Strong project management and client relationship skills.
