 Manager - Business Development  
 
Job Title
  Business Development Manager   
Job Purpose
  The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for promoting and selling WeFreight services within the assigned market, focusing on both SMEs and large-sized customers. The role is profit-driven, aimed at generating consistent revenue and gross profit to meet monthly and annual sales targets. The BDM also contributes to trade lane development, market representation, and coordination with other WeFreight branches for cross-border opportunities, while strengthening the company s brand reputation.   
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
    Sales and Business Development 
  
   Actively promote and sell WeFreight s services to new SME and large-scale clients 
    Continuously secure new business to meet or exceed revenue and profit targets 
    Generate leads, register opportunities, and track sales activity via ERP-based CRM 
    Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all customer interactions and visits 
    Relationship Management 
  
   Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through regular visits and communication 
    Provide professional and prompt follow-up on client requests and inquiries 
    Negotiate rates and contracts in line with company guidelines and profitability 
    Trade Lane Development 
  
   Identify and develop key trade lanes to enhance company competitiveness 
    Collaborate with trade lane managers to boost volumes in specific corridors 
    Support the creation and execution of trade lane strategies 
    Market Representation Promotion 
  
   Actively promote WeFreight s brand and services in the marketplace 
    Represent the company at industry events, vendor meetings, and trade summits 
    Raise awareness of core services such as consolidation and trade-specific solutions 
    Cross-Branch Collaboration 
  
   Coordinate with WeFreight branches on trade lane alignment and sales efforts 
    Conduct joint visits and shared client presentations to enhance cross-border sales 
    Share leads and support global business opportunities across the WeFreight network 
    Strategic Planning Market Analysis 
  
   Analyze and map business opportunities, trends, and customer needs 
    Participate in sales meetings, sharing market intelligence and insights 
    Contribute to broader business growth strategies through data and feedback 
    Operational Financial Collaboration 
  
   Support the operations and customer service teams in delivering on service-level agreements 
    Coordinate with the finance team to follow up on outstanding receivables 
    Relay customer feedback for service enhancement and process improvements 
   
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
    Monthly and annual revenue and profit achievement 
    Number of new clients onboarded and new revenue generated 
    Growth in key trade lanes and contribution to lane strategy 
    CRM data accuracy and completeness 
    Sales visit-to-deal conversion rate 
    Client satisfaction and retention levels 
    Success rate of joint sales initiatives with WeFreight branches

Education Requirements
  Bachelor s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related discipline   
Language Requirements
  English Fluent  Hindi Preferred   
Background and Experience
    3 5 years of experience in business development or sales, ideally in freight forwarding or logistics 
    Strong understanding of market trends and logistics operations 
    Proven ability to meet targets and generate new business 
    Experience in global trade lane development is an advantage 
    Skilled in negotiation, strategic sales planning, and relationship management
