ob Title: Maintenance Mechanical Fitter (ITI Fitter)Job Summary: The Maintenance Mechanical Fitter is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems and machinery in an industrial or manufacturing environment. The role demands a high level of technical knowledge and practical skills in mechanical systems, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of equipment. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance and Repairs: Perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, conveyors, motors, and other machinery. Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems to ensure proper functionality and identify potential issues. Repair or replace faulty parts, bearings, seals, belts, and other mechanical components. Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical issues and faults in equipment, utilizing technical drawings, manuals, and diagnostic tools. Identify the root cause of mechanical failures and take appropriate corrective action to resolve issues. Installation and Setup: Install new machinery and equipment according to manufacturer instructions and industry standards. Assist in the setup and calibration of new equipment and machinery during plant upgrades or new installations. Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety protocols to minimize risks. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and part replacements. Complete work orders and report on ongoing maintenance tasks and issues to supervisors or engineers. Collaboration: Work with other maintenance and engineering personnel to coordinate activities, optimize equipment performance, and improve overall plant reliability. Provide technical support and guidance to junior fitters or apprentices when necessary. Skills and Qualifications: Education: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (optional but preferred). Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Proven experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment. Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals. Hands-on experience with tools such as wrenches, grinders, drills, and other mechanical tools. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is an added advantage. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high safety standards. Working Conditions: Ability to work in a factory or industrial environment, which may involve exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. Shift work and overtime may be required depending on the operational needs of the facility. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy tools and equipment (up to 25 kg). Stand, bend, or crouch for long periods during maintenance tasks. Desired Traits: Self-motivated and proactive. Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
