Job Title: Mainframe Developer Key Skills: Mainframe , DB2, Cobalt, JCL and VSAM Job Locations: Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune Experience: 8 â 12 Years Budget: 13 - 17 LPA Education Qualification : Any Graduation Work Mode: Hybrid Employment Type: Contract Notice Period: Immediate - 15 Days Interview Mode: 2 Rounds of Technical Interview + Including Client round Job Description: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Analyst with strong expertise in Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM. The ideal candidate will play a key role in analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise-level mainframe applications to support business operations. Key Responsibilities: Analyze business requirements and translate them into high-quality technical solutions. Design, code, test, and maintain applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to deliver high-performing mainframe solutions. Perform system impact analysis, create technical design documents, and review code for compliance and optimization. Provide production support, incident management, and root cause analysis for mainframe applications. Optimize existing code and batch jobs for improved performance and maintainability. Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and documentation of processes and procedures. Support integration with other systems and platforms, including modern technologies where needed. Required Skills and Experience: 8â12 years of strong hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM. Proficiency in analyzing and debugging complex mainframe batch and online programs. Experience with CICS and IMS (preferred but not mandatory). Knowledge of tools such as Endevor/Changeman, Xpediter, File-Aid, Control-M, etc. Good understanding of SDLC, agile methodologies, and change management processes. Experience with performance tuning and batch job optimization. Exposure to working in BFSI, insurance, or retail domains is a plus.
