Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Magento Headless Developer to join our team on a contract/freelance basis. The ideal candidate will be an expert in building modern, performant, and scalable e-commerce solutions using Magento 2/Adobe Commerce as a backend and a separate front-end application. A deep understanding of GraphQL API development and headless architecture is essential for this role.Key Responsibilities:API Development: Design, develop, and extend Magento's GraphQL API to support complex business logic and provide data to a headless front-end application.Headless Implementation: Architect and build a decoupled e-commerce solution, integrating Magento as the backend and a modern front-end framework (e.g., React, Vue.js, or PWA Studio) as the presentation layer.Module Development: Create custom Magento modules and extensions to support unique business requirements, ensuring they are API-driven and adhere to Magento's best practices.Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks within the Magento backend and GraphQL queries to ensure a fast and responsive user experience.Integration: Connect third-party services (e.g., payment gateways, ERPs, CRMs) to Magento via APIs, ensuring seamless data flow in a headless environment.Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers, designers, and project managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Code Quality: Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code, participating in code reviews to ensure high standards.Required Skills & Qualifications:Proven experience as a Magento 2/Adobe Commerce Developer.Expertise in GraphQL API development and consumption.Strong understanding of headless e-commerce architecture and best practices.Proficiency in PHP, with a solid grasp of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., React, Vue.js) and an understanding of how they interact with GraphQL APIs.Familiarity with Magento's core systems, including Service Contracts, Dependency Injection, and Module development.Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.Preferred (But Not Required) Skills:Experience with PWA Studio or Venia storefront.Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.Experience working with large-scale, high-traffic e-commerce websites.Certifications in Adobe Commerce/Magento.
