Machine Shop Manager

To manage and control daily machine shop activities, ensuring production targets, quality requirements, manpower utilization, cost control, and timely delivery are achieved in a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities1. Production & Planning

• Plan and monitor daily production schedules and ensure on-time completion.
• Allocate jobs to machines & operators based on skill and capacity.
• Ensure optimal utilization of CNC/VMC/lathe/grinding and other machines.
• Review production performance, cycle time, machine utilization, and rejection rate.

2. Quality Assurance

• Ensure parts are produced as per drawing & specifications.
• Coordinate with Quality Department for inspection and issue resolution.
• Implement root cause analysis (RCA) for defects, NC, breakdowns, rework, and scrap.
• Maintain 5S and kaizen-based continuous improvement.

3. Manpower Management

• Manage operator shifts, training, skill development and discipline.
• Review operator performance and reduce absenteeism and turnover.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules, PPE usage, and shop floor housekeeping.

4. Preventive Maintenance

• Coordinate with Maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Maintain machine health records, coolant/lubrication levels, and spares planning.

5. Cost & Inventory Control

• Reduce machining cost through tool optimization and cycle time reduction.
• Control tool and consumable usage.
• Maintain WIP, raw material, job card tracking and documentation.

6. Vendor & Customer Interaction

• Coordinate with suppliers for tooling, fixtures & outsourced machining jobs.
• Support vendor development activities when required.
• Attend customer audits and provide corrective actions.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
