Logistics & Material Handling Engineer

Job Title: Logistics & Material Handling Engineer Department: Logistics / Material Handling Job Purpose: To manage, execute, and improve the capital and revenue budget activities, preventive maintenance, and operational excellence in material handling and logistics. The role involves driving innovation, enhancing safety, managing costs, and ensuring compliance with environmental and occupational health standards. Key Responsibilities:1. Capital Budget Management Prepare detailed reports for capital expenditure approvals (IR). Plan, execute, and ensure the smooth implementation of capital budget projects. 2. Revenue Budget Management Identify critical shop floor activities and prepare countermeasure reports. Coordinate with C&C (Controls & Compliance) and U&S (Utilities & Services) teams for the execution and implementation of revenue-related activities. 3. Preventive Maintenance Ensure smooth daily operations of material handling equipment through Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and preventive maintenance activities. 4. Logistics Innovation Identify and execute innovative projects in logistics to simplify processes and reduce operator fatigue. 5. Safety Compliance Analyze critical operations in material handling. Implement new safety initiatives and ensure safe working practices. 6. Scrap & Asset Management Manage disposal of unused or obsolete assets. Coordinate with the material purchase team for selling or scrapping assets to avoid unnecessary stock. 7. Cost Saving Initiatives Drive cost-saving projects. Achieve cost improvement targets through operational efficiencies and innovation. 8. EMS/OHSMS Compliance Maintain and periodically update Environment Management System (EMS) and Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) documentation. Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards. 9. Displays & Signage Management Ensure necessary operational and safety displays are installed in the right areas. Manage replacement of damaged signage and enhance visual management tools. Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of material handling systems, preventive maintenance, and logistics processes. Proficiency in budget planning and project execution. Familiarity with EMS/OHSMS standards and safety practices. Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset. Strong communication, coordination, and teamwork skills. Qualifications: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or related field. Experience:3 to 8 years of experience in logistics operations, material handling equipment maintenance, and budget management in a manufacturing or automotive industry environment.
