Role Overview

Loan Syndication Reconciliation & Settlement team


Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead and manage the Reconciliation & Settlement team within Loan Syndication.

  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and performance management to ensure high-quality output.
  • Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.


  • Operational Execution

  • Oversee the end-to-end loan lifecycle activities

    , including:
  • Paydowns

    – tracking, processing, and reconciling scheduled and unscheduled loan paydowns.
  • Drawdowns

    – ensuring accurate funding of borrower requests in line with facility agreements.
  • Rollovers

    – handling extensions and rollovers of loan tranches.
  • Syndication Settlements

    – coordinating primary and secondary loan trade settlements.
  • Ensure all bookings and reconciliations are accurately captured in

    WSO

    and aligned with internal systems.
  • Manage cash flow tracking and settlement to ensure accuracy and timeliness.


  • Reconciliation & Controls

  • Perform daily position and cash reconciliations with counterparties, agents, and custodians.

  • Investigate and resolve breaks, discrepancies, and trade mismatches promptly.
  • Monitor exceptions and escalate potential risks to management.


  • Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Front Office, Trading, Sales, Product Control, and Risk to ensure smooth loan operations.

  • Liaise with Agent Banks, custodians, and external counterparties for settlement and reconciliation queries.
  • Act as a key contact point for audit, compliance, and regulatory inquiries related to loan operations.


  • Process Improvement

  • Develop, document, and enforce policies and procedures for the Loan Syndication settlement process.

  • Drive automation initiatives and system enhancements within

    WSO

    and related platforms.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen operational controls and mitigate risk.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in

    Loan Operations / Loan Syndication

    , with at least 3 years in a

    leadership role

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    WSO

    and its integration in loan lifecycle management.
  • In-depth understanding of

    loan syndication processes

    , including paydowns, drawdowns, rollovers, and settlements.
  • Proven ability to manage reconciliation, settlement, and operational risk functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
