Sr. Manager/AVP- Litigation

Role Summary

The ideal candidate should come from an NBFC / MFI / BFSI background with strong exposure to recovery and borrower litigation management across multiple states. Hands-on experience in arbitration, and coordination with local advocates/counsels is essential. The role demands high ownership, speed in execution, and ability to work closely with credit, recovery and compliance teams to protect the companys interests and drive recoveries.

Litigation Management:

Manage and monitor all borrower-related and recovery litigation cases across districts and states, ensuring effective representation and follow-up with empaneled advocates.

Oversee arbitration proceedings, NI Act (Section 138) cases, and civil/criminal matters arising from business operations.

Ensure timely filing, appearance, and resolution of cases in coordination with internal stakeholders and external counsel.

Advocate & Vendor Coordination:

Empanel, review, and supervise external advocates and law firms.

Evaluate performance, manage billing, and ensure adherence to company legal and compliance standards.

Recovery & Business Support:

Partner with Recovery and Credit teams to provide legal inputs on case strategy, settlement, and enforcement actions.

Support pre-litigation negotiations, notices, and settlements to minimize escalations.

Regulatory & Employee Cases:

Handle or supervise regulatory and employee-related legal matters, coordinating with relevant departments and authorities.

MIS, Reporting & Compliance:

Maintain centralized legal MIS, track case status, and provide periodic reports to management.

Ensure compliance with internal policies, RBI/NBFC regulations, and legal risk management guidelines.Preferred candidate profile

Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Experience in handling large volumes of borrower default cases across multiple geographies.

Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
