Position Overview
Lead Telecom Engineer position for Telecom engineering activities mainly for Topside facilities in FPSO/FLNG or Offshore facilities.Lead Telecom Engineer develops corporate technical standards/procedures, workflow, engineering platform (e.g. Instrument design data integration) and keep them updated, integral, practical and fit to purpose with incorporating Project Lesson Learns.Lead Telecom Engineer assists Head of Discipline for managing a corporate organization and mentors Instrument Engineers in the Discipline.Lead Telecom Engineer conducts technical validation and quality assurance (input/output data accuracy, technical appropriateness, consistency, practicality, code, optimum solution and regulatory compliance) in executing Feasibility /Conceptual Study/Pre-FEED/FEED, EPCI Engineering for FPSO/FLNG or Offshore facilities projects.This role may require frequent travel to the US, Europe, and Asia.The strategic focus will also include providing support to Hanwha Ocean engineering teams based in USA/Netherland/Singapore/India and elsewhere as necessary including Conceptual, pre-FEED and FEED for projects in the offshore area in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Topside Head of Discipline / Principal Engineer to manage corporate organization
- Update and Maintain EPCI and O & M Phase Lesson Learnt database
- Ensure all engineering documents are prepared and developed in accordance with relevant design code, standard and client’s project specification.
- Provide engineering review and support for bid proposal including estimate of manhour and cost.
- Raise Technical Queries towards the client’s project documents, Design basis to ensure all scopes of work and design basis are clarified.
- Attend project meetings internally and externally (with clients, third party, sub-contractor) and generate MOM
- Manage interface with all relevant disciplines to get necessary information for Instrument engineering or to provide data to other disciplines for their engineering
- Mentor junior or less-experienced Telecom engineers
- Report Area of Concerns, Progress and Plan to Head of Discipline
- Ensure Compliance with regulatory requirements
- Develop Project Design Philosophies, Standards, Procedure
- Working in Engineering Software – SPI.
- Conduct feasibility studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, FEED Verification (Inception of EPCI Phase) and EPCI phase Engineering
- Develop Instrument calculations, studies and deliverables
- Close out comment/punches/recommendation from 3D Model, Constructability Review and etc.
- Review Vendor Documents - Telecom Deliverables
- Provide engineering support for construction, commissioning and operation team
- Ensure as-built Telecom deliverables
Qualifications
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Instrument/ Electronics & communication or equivalent Engineering
- Minimum 15 years’ experience with 5 years’ experience at FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor
- Leadership skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Working experience in Engineering Software - SPI
- Skill to plan, schedule, organize resource and supervision of design and engineering tasks for teams
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work with and to communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, clients and manage multiple priorities.
- Fluent in English, with strong oral and written communication skills
