Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for designing, administering, and maintaining reliable, secure, andhigh-performing database systems.Combines traditional DBA expertise with Site Reliability Engineering principles toensure availability, automation, scalability, and operational excellence across on-prem andcloud environments.Administer production and non-production databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, MSSQL).

Key Responsibilities

Implement backup, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery strategies.
Monitor database health, system performance, and storage utilization using Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
Engineer and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code deployments with Terraform and Ansible.
Configure CI/CD pipelines for database schema management and environment provisioning.
Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to design resilient and fault-tolerant architectures.
Required Skills / Must-Have
Expert-level knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and MSSQL.
Deep expertise in backup/recovery, replication, clustering, high availability, and performance tuning.
Strong command of query optimization, schema design, and indexing strategieExperience:15+ years in database administration infrastructure automation, and reliability engineering.

Nice-to-Have / Preferred Skills

Exposure to large-scale distributed systems (Cassandra, Kafka, ElasticSearch).
Experience with Redis Enterprise or high-performance caching architectures.
Knowledge of microservices reliability patterns and service mesh (Istio, Linkerd).
Background in cost optimization, performance benchmarking, and DR design.
Experience driving DevOps/SRE adoption and cultural transformation initiatives.
24×7 production support readiness and on-call rotation participation.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.MCA / BCA / Diploma in Computer Engineering with 15+ years of progressive DBA/SRE experience.

Certifications/Licenses

MongoDB Certified DBA Associate (preferred).
Oracle MySQL Database Administrator or Microsoft SQL Server Certification.
AWS / Azure Database or DevOps Engineer – Professional.
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
