The ideal candidate should demonstrate deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, customer orientation, and continuous learning agility.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Expertise

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of EV systems including batteries, electric motors, power electronics, and charging infrastructure.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain EV-specific components such as battery packs, inverters, electric drive systems, and charging ports.
  • Work with EV software systems, onboard diagnostics, and Vehicle Control Units (VCUs).

  • Understand different charging technologies including AC, DC fast charging, and wireless charging.
  • Demonstrate strong electrical skills for working on circuits, wiring, connectors, and sensors within the EV architecture.

2. Problem Solving & Troubleshooting

  • Identify and resolve complex technical issues across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software (e.g., OBD-II scanners, EV-specific diagnostic software, telematics) to analyze faults and implement corrective actions.
  • Resolve charging-related issues (ports, cables, connectors, and communication interfaces between vehicle and charger).
  • Perform timely troubleshooting under high-pressure conditions to minimize vehicle downtime.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring issues and propose preventive measures.

3. Customer Complaint Management

  • Communicate technical issues and solutions to customers in clear, non-technical language.
  • Provide proactive service updates, technical advice, and preventive maintenance recommendations.
  • Demonstrate a customer-first approach by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring service satisfaction.
  • Analyze telematics and diagnostic data to identify trends and provide insights for improved performance and reliability.

4. Quality Assurance & Process Adherence

  • Adhere to established repair protocols, testing standards, and safety checks.
  • Conduct post-repair quality assurance through road testing and system validation.
  • Maintain detailed records of diagnostic findings, repair activities, and service reports.
  • Use digital service management tools to log issues, parts, actions, and recommendations.
  • Provide structured feedback to improve service processes and prevent recurring issues.

5. Learning Agility & Continuous Development

  • Stay updated with evolving market trends, customer expectations, and competitor products.
  • Continuously upgrade technical skills in line with emerging EV technologies.
  • Seek regular feedback and incorporate it into personal development.
  • Develop and follow an individual learning roadmap to enhance professional capability.

Required Competencies

  • Technical Mastery: Strong knowledge of EV systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Customer Orientation: Effective communication and relationship management with customers.
  • Quality Focus: Commitment to accuracy, safety, and service excellence.
  • Learning Agility: Openness to feedback, adaptability, and eagerness to learn new technologies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in Automobile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in Electric Vehicle service, maintenance, or technical support (OEM or Tier-1 preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with EV diagnostic tools, service management software, and telematics.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and protocols for high-voltage systems.
