QA Lead Job Description Position Overview We are seeking an experienced QA Lead to join our team and drive quality assurance initiatives across our software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on testing expertise with strong leadership skills to build and manage a high-performing QA team while ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers and testers • Develop and implement QA strategies, processes, and best practices • Conduct performance reviews and provide career development guidance • Foster a culture of quality throughout the development organization • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, Product, and DevOps Quality Assurance Strategy • Define and execute comprehensive test strategies for multiple projects • Establish testing standards, guidelines, and quality gates • Drive the adoption of automation testing frameworks and tools • Implement risk-based testing approaches to optimize coverage • Monitor and report on quality metrics and KPIs Technical Responsibilities • Design and review test plans, test cases, and testing procedures • Oversee manual and automated testing activities • Lead root cause analysis for critical defects and quality issues • Evaluate and recommend testing tools and technologies • Ensure proper test environment management and data setup Process Improvement • Continuously improve QA processes and methodologies • Drive integration of testing activities into CI/CD pipelines • Implement shift-left testing practices • Establish defect prevention and early detection strategies • Lead post-release quality assessments and lessons learned sessions

Required Qualifications Experience • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field • 5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or team lead role • Strong background in both manual and automated testing methodologies Technical Skills • Proficiency in test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, etc.) • Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, etc.) • Knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.) • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies • Experience with test management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, qTest) Leadership Skills • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Experience in stakeholder management and reporting • Ability to make data-driven decisions • Conflict resolution and problem-solving capabilities Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in relevant field • ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications • Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner) • Knowledge of security testing principles and tools • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) • Background in mobile application testing • Experience with microservices and containerized applications
