Lead Project Engineer
in
India
.This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead complex engineering projects within the energy and industrial technology sector. You will manage project execution for advanced turbomachinery systems, coordinating across multidisciplinary teams and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery. The position requires technical leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement to meet customer and project objectives. You will oversee engineering design, risk management, and quality control while supporting internal and external communications. Accountabilities
- Lead project execution for turbomachinery products, including centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, gas and steam turbine-driven packages, for greenfield and brownfield projects
- Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, building strong relationships and ensuring reliable project execution
- Collaborate with product, systems integration, service, project management, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless project delivery
- Review and assess project requirements, technical specifications, and contractual obligations, ensuring alignment with standards and customer needs
- Coordinate design activities, technical reviews, risk mitigation, and action plans to resolve engineering issues during project execution
- Manage engineering documentation, drawings, bill of materials, and ensure compliance with quality targets and regulatory standards
- Monitor engineering hours, resource allocation, financial targets, and project KPIs
- Attend and contribute to customer and internal meetings, including kick-offs, design reviews, HAZOP sessions, and project close-outs
Requirements
- Diploma, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in multidisciplinary roles within Oil & Gas or industrial projects as a System Engineer, Lead Design Engineer, or Project Engineer
- Proven experience leading technically complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of oil & gas equipment, including gas & steam turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, and expanders
- Familiarity with technical standards, including API, ASME, FMEA methodology, HAZOP, and design/model reviews
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools, MS Office, project management software, and MRP systems
- Certification in Six Sigma Green Belt; PMP certification is a plus
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage high-level stakeholder relationships and define communication strategies
