A Day In The Life
- Manage the creation, communication, and deployment of the weekly production schedule for all manufacturing work centers. Ensure available capacity is effectively applied while level loading all demand requirements.
- Conduct final material assessments and initiate the release of work orders to manufacturing. Request the transfer of raw materials from the warehouse as needed and ensure all batch record documentation is released and printed for manufacturing.
- Track work order statuses through manufacturing, reviewing work-in-process material inventory on the production floor. Address work order delays by working cross-functionally to resolve issues and maintain schedule adherence.
- Identify and highlight all capacity constraints while working collaboratively with manufacturing teams to resolve these issues. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure schedule attainment results, factoring in constraints related to supply, capacity, equipment, and other operational aspects.
- Collaborate with manufacturing personnel, purchasing departments, and supervisors on material status and production planning issues. Provide input and recommendations for improving supply chain strategies, policies, and practices to achieve world-class Supply Chain Management. Participate in problem resolution activities to ensure timely deliveries and support back-order reduction efforts.
- Successfully complete Thermo Fisher Scientific training requirements on schedule and adhere to all ISO, GMP, and FDA standards for Frederick Site Manufacturing Operations.
- May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
Keys To Success
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or another business or technical field.
Experience
- Required: Minimum 2 to 5 yrs of experience in Direct and indirect procurement experience in manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field
- Preferred: Experience in an FDA regulated environment or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Proficient in using an ERP System, with E1 experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong analytical skills paired with practical discernment.
- Proven ability to build relationships across various functional teams.
- Demonstrated skill in managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
- Ability to thrive in a matrix and cross-functional team environment and work well in a global
- organization within Operations and with external clients.
- Capable of working independently, typically initiating own tasks with input/mentorship from a manager.
