**Job Description:** **Role Overview:** As a Lead Employment Law India at General Mills, you will be joining the legal team in Mumbai to provide comprehensive legal support on employment-related matters for General Mills India Center, India Foods business, and manufacturing operations. You will partner closely with attorneys and business colleagues in India and the U.S., advising on a full spectrum of employment and labour law matters, representing the company in employment-related litigation, and ensuring compliance with company values. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide timely and practical legal advice on employment and labour law matters for diverse workforces. - Support the maintenance, implementation, and creation of governance and compliance programs related to employees. - Assist Employee Relations, Human Resources, and business teams in employment-related decision-making. - Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, separation agreements, and workplace policies. - Develop and implement training for employees on critical topics such as harassment prevention. - Monitor changes in employment law and provide guidance on implications for business operations. - Represent the company in employment disputes and proceedings before labor courts and tribunals. - Manage external counsel engagement and oversee litigation strategy. - Participate in internal investigations and provide legal guidance throughout grievance and disciplinary processes. - Respond to legal notices, inspections, and inquiries from regulatory authorities. - Refer non-employment legal matters to subject matter experts. **Qualifications Required:** - Qualified to practice law in India and enrolled with the Bar Council of India. - Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in employment and labour law. - Strong knowledge of Indian labour and employment laws. - Proven track record of representing clients in labor courts and tribunals. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Ability to work closely with various teams and leadership levels. - Team-oriented with flexibility in role. - Based in or willing to relocate to Mumbai.
