Responsible for delivery of Small to Large sized Capital Projects in the plant with the objective of providing high quality execution in a timely and cost effective manner. The Project Engineer will lead teams with diverse talents, skill levels and backgrounds, will be responsible for collaborating with other functional areas and for communicating with key customers and stakeholders. He should take initiative in identifying Improvements and leading them through execution and realisation in order to improve plant performance. Responsibilities Lead and manage projects in meeting the essential requirements of: Technical/quality performance. Project Charter and Manufacturing requirements. Capital budget. Start-up budget. Provide capital project estimating for cost, scheduling and technical performance as needed by the business units. Execute the basic and detailed design of the projects based on GMI Guidelines & Standard, local statutory requirements, the defined user requirements specifications ensuring safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability and reliability. Implement Improvement projects such as solutions to Capacity improvement, Debottlenecking, Efficiency Improvement. To maintain the set quality standards in Equipment Selection and Execution i.e. Sanitary Design, GMP, HACCP & other quality requirements. Ensure safety during both the construction and the ongoing operation of the plant. Manage the required interactions outside of General Mills Network ie with external business partners, consultants & contractors. Support the capital sourcing process, make the indents for capital projects with all requirements & seek approvals. Ensure all Records & documentation related to function is created in time & maintained properly. Provide pertinent cash flow information to the Plant regarding ongoing and future projects. To ensure implementation of all Fixed Assets and Capital Projects policies and Procedures. Should be able to work as a mentor for Manufacturing Platform teams to drive Idea Generation, Execution Excellence. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor degree in Engineering (mechanical/chemical). 8+ years with a focus on capital project execution Experience in plant operations and industrial environments understanding equipment design and impacts to materials, labor, and work processes. Thorough understanding of food safety, human safety & environment policies, processes and compliance. Project Engineering experience including scope definition, cost estimation and tracking, Estimate-at-Complete (EAC) estimation and scope management. Demonstrated performance in executing concurrent assignments. Strong technical leadership skills in a collaborative fashion. Capable analytical problem solver using data and keen judgment. Adaptability to manoeuvre through uncertainty with a high degree of professionalism and candor. Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Understanding of Food Manufacturing Regulatory Requirements (GMP's, Food Safety, sanitation practices and design criteria). Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and Vertical Start-up tools and processes. At least 2+ years of Plant Maintenance Experience. Leadership Skills Strategic and Innovative Thinking.
