Role Overview

As the Lead Data Scientist, you will define the data strategy, lead AI/ML projects, and collaborate with healthcare professionals, engineers, and product teams to deploy scalable AI solutions. You will focus on predictive analytics for elderly fall risk assessment, working on real-world healthcare datasets while ensuring compliance, ethics, and clinical alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • AI Model Development: Build and optimize predictive ML/DL models for elderly fall risk assessment.
  • Data Analysis: Work with healthcare datasets (EHRs, sensor/wearable data, clinical records) to uncover actionable insights.
  • Domain Expertise: Apply healthcare knowledge to ensure model accuracy, reliability, and ethical use.
  • Collaboration: Partner with clinicians, healthcare providers, and product teams to align AI solutions with care strategies.
  • Data Engineering: Design ETL pipelines for integrating multiple healthcare data sources.
  • Evaluation & Optimization: Continuously refine algorithms for accuracy, scalability, and generalizability.
  • Compliance & Ethics: Ensure adherence to HIPAA, GDPR, and best practices in data privacy/security.
  • Research & Innovation: Stay ahead in healthcare AI trends and integrate new techniques.
  • Team Management: Guide and mentor team members, manage deliverables, and evaluate performance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Present insights, models, and business impact to leadership and external partners.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or related. Strong healthcare background preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 8–11 years in data science, with at least 2 years in healthcare domain.
  • Hands-on leadership in AI/ML healthcare projects.
  • Experience in startups, MedTech, hospitals, or family offices.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Proficiency in Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn.
  • Experience with time-series, sensor/wearable, and IoT healthcare data.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, ML, feature engineering.
  • Healthcare Knowledge:
  • Geriatric healthcare, fall risk assessment, predictive care.
  • Familiarity with EHR, wearable devices, and clinical data workflows.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA/GDPR compliance.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of biomechanics or human movement analysis.
  • Experience with Explainable AI (XAI) and interpretable ML models.
