Lead Data Scientist

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to drive our data-driven strategies by leading analytical projects, developing advanced predictive models, and uncovering actionable insights. This role involves leveraging cutting-edge data science techniques, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior team members while shaping and influencing the organization’s data science vision. Responsibilities Analyze large-scale datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and strategic insights for business growth Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms to solve complex challenges and enhance decision-making Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency by preparing and cleaning datasets for analysis Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines to handle extensive data processing needs Partner with data engineers and software developers to implement and integrate machine learning models into production systems Research and stay up to date on the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to apply innovative solutions Perform exploratory data analysis to spot opportunities for optimization and added business value Contribute to the establishment and documentation of internal data science frameworks, methodologies, and best practices Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing within the team Communicate technical findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Requirements 5+ years of experience in data science, statistical modeling, and machine learning 1+ years of relevant leadership experience Proficiency in Python and SQL, coupled with experience using machine learning frameworks Strong understanding of statistics, probability, and hypothesis testing with practical applications Competency in data preprocessing techniques such as data wrangling and feature engineering Skills in working with data visualization tools like Power BI to communicate results clearly Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the capability to align data science solutions to key business objectives Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytical insights into actionable strategies for stakeholders Fluent English communication skills at a B2+ level Nice to have Expertise in deep learning techniques and neural networks Knowledge of working with cloud platforms for data processing and storage Understanding of data governance, compliance, and privacy policies in enterprise settings Familiarity with advanced techniques such as natural language processing (NLP) or computer vision techniques We offer International projects with top brands Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers Healthcare benefits Employee financial programs Paid time off and sick leave Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000+ courses Global career opportunities Volunteer and community involvement opportunities Opportunity to join and participate in life of EPAM's Employee Resource Groups EPAM Employee Groups Award-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn Show more Show less
