Lead Data Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering efforts across the product, mentoring team members and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
• Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks for batch and real-time data processing.
• Architect efficient and scalable data solutions on Azure, integrating multiple data sources.
• Develop, manage, and optimize data models and storage in Azure Cosmos DB (NoSQL).
• Implement data governance, quality, and security best practices.
• Collaborate closely with product, analytics, DevOps, and application teams to ensure seamless data integration.
• Monitor and tune the performance of pipelines, notebooks, and queries.
• Drive continuous improvement in development practices, performance, and cost efficiency.
  

Primary Skills

• Strong hands-on expertise in:
• Azure Databricks (Spark, Python/Scala/SQL)
• Azure Data Factory (ADF pipelines, Linked Services, Integration Runtimes)
• Azure Cosmos DB (modeling, indexing, querying)
• Proficient in SQL, PySpark, and/or Scala for distributed data processing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices in data projects.
• Knowledge of data lake architectures and Delta Lake best practices.
• Understanding of cloud cost management and performance tuning in Azure.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team of developers.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in Azure and Data Engineering, such as:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional
