Job Description – AI and Data Scientist (Ultrasound Imaging)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced AI and Data Scientist to join our Ultrasound Innovation Team, focused on transforming the field of ultrasound imaging with advanced AI and computer vision solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in machine learning, computer vision, and data science, with a strong background in medical imaging—particularly ultrasound. In this role, you will drive the development of AI-powered diagnostic solutions, improving accuracy, efficiency, and usability of ultrasound technology.
Key ResponsibilitiesAI Model Development: Design, train, and deploy deep learning models for ultrasound image analysis, including segmentation, classification, and anomaly detection.
Computer Vision: Apply state-of-the-art techniques (e.g., CNNs, deep learning) to interpret complex ultrasound images.
Data Handling & Analysis: Manage large ultrasound datasets—cleaning, preprocessing, and analyzing to derive insights for model development.
Clinical Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists, clinicians, and medical experts to align AI solutions with real-world diagnostic challenges.
Algorithm Optimization: Enhance model performance for accuracy, speed, and robustness, optimized for real-time clinical environments.
Evaluation Frameworks: Develop and execute rigorous testing methodologies to assess KPIs (precision, recall, sensitivity, specificity, etc.).
Research & Innovation: Stay current with cutting-edge AI, ML, and medical imaging research to incorporate innovative solutions.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed technical documentation and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and publications.
Required QualificationsEducationMaster’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in AI/Machine Learning/Computer Vision.
Experience15+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or data science roles.
Proven expertise in computer vision (segmentation, detection, recognition), preferably with medical imaging datasets.
Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch).
Strong background in managing large-scale medical datasets and image annotation workflows.
Technical SkillsAdvanced programming proficiency in Python and libraries (OpenCV, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
Expertise in developing, training, and deploying deep learning models for image-based applications.
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and distributed environments.
Knowledge of DICOM formats and medical image processing libraries.
Data & Analysis SkillsStrong expertise in data cleaning, augmentation, and preparation for model development.
Ability to integrate structured and unstructured data sources into AI-driven solutions.
Medical Imaging KnowledgeUnderstanding of ultrasound technology and clinical imaging workflows.
Experience with medical image annotation and real-world clinical data challenges.
Soft SkillsStrong problem-solving, critical thinking, and innovation mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Ability to present complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred QualificationsExperience with reinforcement learning or unsupervised learning in medical imaging.
