About Us

Saveetha Engineering College (SEC), founded in 2001 by Dr. N. M. Veeraiyan, has 6427 students across 15 UG, 8 PG, MBA, MS (Research), and PhD programs. Five UG courses are NBA accredited. SEC ranked 96 in NIRF 2017-18 and holds an NAAC ‘A’ Grade (3.19/4). It gained Autonomous status in 2019, is recognized as a DSIR-SIRO, and hosts five Anna University–approved Research Centres. SEC has MoUs with reputed institutions in India and abroad.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy leader to spearhead the Advanced Manufacturing Centre, focusing on breakthrough technologies in Robotics, 3D Printing, CAD/CAM, AI-driven Manufacturing, IoT, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with deep technical expertise and strong team-building abilities, capable of shaping the future of advanced manufacturing in academia and industry partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

~ Provide strategic leadership and set a vision for the Advanced Manufacturing Centre.

~ Lead projects in Robotics, Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), CAD/CAM solutions, and smart manufacturing systems.

~ Drive research, innovation, and the application of technology in advanced manufacturing.

~ Establish industry, government, and academic collaborations to expand the Centre’s reach and impact.

~ Guide a team of faculty, researchers, and students in executing projects and knowledge transfer.

~ Implement lean manufacturing and process optimization practices to improve efficiency and outcomes.

~ Explore and integrate Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT, automation, and AI-enabled manufacturing.

~ Prepare proposals and secure research/industry grants for projects.

~ Organize workshops, training sessions, and industry outreach programs.

Required Skill Sets (one or a combination of the following expertise)

~ Robotics Integration Lead: Deep expertise in robotics for manufacturing applications, automation, and control systems.

~ 3D Printing Specialist: Hands-on experience in additive manufacturing, materials, and design innovation.

~ CAD/CAM Lead: Proficiency in design, simulation, and manufacturing software implementation.

~ Process Optimization Lead: Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and efficiency-improvement methodologies.

~ IoT/Industry 5.0: Application of smart sensors, data analytics, and digital manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications & Experience

~ Proven track record in leading technical teams, managing projects, and building collaborations.

~ Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

~ Publications, patents, or successful project implementations in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
