Job Description

Strong installation and database administration experience on DB2 11.x and 10.x version
Database upgrade to DB2 11.x and migration experience
Using DB2 tools for performance
Database security and DB2 locking
Moving data across environment
Implement and manage HADR and split mirror database copy
Manage DB2 DPF partitioned database

About the Role

Service Request, Incident, Problem and Change managements

Experience on ITIL Tools like Remedy, Service Now or any other ticketing tool

Monitoring Tools – HP OMI, OEM, RedGate, SQL Sentry, Azure Admin Portal

Excellent verbal and written Communication Skills

Responsibilities

Installation and administration of DB2 11.x, 10.x on Linux, UNIX and Windows servers
Creation and maintenance of UDB DB2 instances, databases, schema and objects
Creation and execution of backup and recovery strategies and procedure implementation
Setup and execution of standard database utilities
Experienced in handling UDB DB2 security and logging
Events, database performance and availability monitoring
SQL, database and application performance monitoring and tuning
Evaluation and testing new versions of UDB DB2
Analyzes the issue to determine the root cause and develop solution or escalate to next level
Database growth trend analysis and capacity recommendation
Database reorganization planning
Design and extract the script from physical Data modeling
Coordinate with database vendors for resolution
Install Client software and troubleshoot connectivity issues
Create and troubleshoot DB2 and shell scripts
Primarily role is supporting the production and non-prod database environments
Provide 24x7 and on call support for critical application databases

Qualifications

Experience Level: 4 to 6 Years

Location of Posting: Pune & Cochin

Required Skills

Primary Skill (Technical Skill): UDB DB2 DBA
Any of Oracle / MySQL / PostgreSQL / Sybase – L1 level
OS - Solaris/Linux/AIX/HP UNIX & Windows
Cloud – DaaS / IaaS
Tools – Monitoring / Ticketing / Backup

Preferred Skills

Secondary Skill (At least one in OS and DB / Open Source)
OS - Solaris/Linux/AIX/HP UNIX & Windows
Database – Oracle / MySQL/MS SQL & Windows OS / Sybase / PostgreSQL/MongoDB/SAP HANA / Open Source DB
