Sample Collection and Preparation

Lab Technician Roles and Responsibilities

• Collect blood, urine, tissue, or other specimens from patients (in clinical labs).
• Prepare samples for testing by labeling, sorting, and storing them appropriately.
• Conducting Laboratory Tests
• Perform standard laboratory tests (e.g., blood counts, chemical analyses, microbiological cultures).
• Operate analytical instruments such as microscopes, centrifuges, and spectrometers.
• Data Recording and Analysis
• Accurately record test results.
• Analyze findings and report abnormal results to relevant personnel (e.g., doctors or supervisors).
• Equipment Maintenance
• Calibrate, clean, and maintain lab equipment.
• Troubleshoot and report malfunctions or calibration issues.
• Quality Control and Assurance
• Follow protocols to ensure testing accuracy.
• Maintain documentation for quality audits and regulatory compliance.
• Health and Safety Compliance
• Adhere to safety procedures and biohazard protocols.
• Wear protective gear and properly dispose of hazardous waste.
• Inventory and Supply Management
• Monitor stock levels of lab supplies and reagents.
• Order or request restocking when supplies run low.
• Collaboration and Communication
• Work alongside scientists, pathologists, or medical staff.
• Communicate findings clearly and timely.

Additional Duties (Depending on Setting) Clinical Labs

• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
• Assist in diagnosing diseases based on test results.

Research Labs

• Assist in experiments and data collection.
• Help in writing research reports or publications. Industrial/Manufacturing Labs
• Test raw materials and finished products for quality.
• Ensure processes meet regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
