LAB CHEMIST

B.Sc. Chemistry with a minimum experience of 6+ years /5+ years respectively in any Oil & gas Plant laboratory/ Petroleum Research institute etc.

• Maintenance of laboratory equipment and to ensure laboratory operations protocols are met for effective management of the chemical laboratory.
• Associated with the Rajasthan operations to achieve the company business needs by performance in safety, productivity, and cost.
• Supervise and Provide guidance and support to BP staff. Planning and scheduling of daily activities and special studies.
• Approved standard operating procedure for each test carried out in the lab with safety and environments aspects involved with each test will be followed as mentioned in the procedure.
• Ensure that Calibration schedules for the laboratory equipment’s, standard solutions are carried out and recorded in the work register and LIMS.
• Ensure that the analyzed samples are disposed in the respective waste containers and disposed of in proper drains.
• Ensure that all records /certificates are maintained and updated.
• Accountabilities& responsibilities for effective implementation, value adding application & continuous improvement towards Asset Optimization (AO) program & Vedanta Sustainability Assurance program (VSAP).
• Good experience in handling laboratory equipment i.e Gas Chromatograph, Sulphur analyzer chromatograph, Spectrometer FTIR, inductively coupled plasma, KF Titrator, Spectrophotometer, KF- Coulometer, DO Analysis meter, Cloud & Pour point Bath Apparatus, Viscosity Apparatus etc.
• Well versed with ASTM, NACE & APHA standards for Laboratory analysis.
• Good experience in handling analysis for Natural gas, Crude Oil and water.
• Below are some critical factors for which the company is expecting the candidate to be competent enough for maintaining day to day quality:
• Injectivity of Injection water by NACE method.
• TSS of Injection water by filtration method.
• Oil In water by Spectrophotometry.
• SRB measurements by MPN method.
• Calcium & Barium Inhibition tests.
• Residual analysis of Corrosion & Scale Inhibitors.
• Iron by Spectrophotometry.
• BS&W in Oil by Centrifuge method as per ASTM standard.
• Water in Oil by distillation method as per ASTM standard
• Crude oil density by Hydrometer.
• API gravity in Oil.
• Pour Point, RVP and Salt content in Oil.
• Moisture content in Gas samples.
• Dew point in gas samples.
• GAS analysis by Gas chromatography.
• Incoming chemicals quality checks by FTIR figure printing.
• Candidate having basic knowledge on process chemicals for addressing dehydration issues, Corrosion and scaling issues will be an added advantage.
• Good team player with efficient and clear communication skills to manage business partner’s laboratory operation.
