Lab Assistant - Rubber Testing

Job Title: Laboratory Assistant – Rubber Testing Job Description: We are looking for a Laboratory Assistant for its in-house Rubber Testing Laboratory. The role involves routine physical, mechanical, and compound quality tests to support production, quality control, and raw material verification. Key Responsibilities: Laboratory Testing: • Conduct routine rubber tests including: Tensile & Elongation test; Rheology tests; Accelerated ageing tests etc • Perform QC testing of rubber compounds before release to production • Carry out raw material testing as per internal standards and specifications Sample Preparation: • Prepare test samples, slabs, and buttons using lab presses and cutting dies • Ensure correct conditioning and identification of samples before testing Documentation & Records: • Record test results accurately in test registers, formats, and reports • Maintain proper traceability of test results • Organize and maintain test certificates (COA / TC) for all incoming raw materials Stores & Inventory Coordination: • Maintain FIFO system for rubber chemicals and lab consumables • Track raw material batches tested and released • Assist in maintaining chemical storage discipline and labeling Lab Housekeeping & Compliance: • Maintain cleanliness, calibration status, and basic upkeep of lab equipment • Follow lab safety procedures and quality protocols • Support audits and internal quality reviews when required Qualification & Skills: • Diploma / B-Tech in Polymer / Rubber Technology (ITIs in Rubber Technician with lab exposure can apply) • 0–3 years experience in a rubber testing lab • Basic understanding of rubber compounding and testing methods • Ability to read and follow test procedures and specifications • Good record-keeping and attention to detail • Willingness to work in a manufacturing lab environment Company Profile: Virtu Rubber Tech Pvt.
