Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Maintenance Technician – Mechanical (Rubber Manufacturing) Job Description: We are looking for a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) for our rubber products manufacturing facility. The role focuses primarily on mechanical maintenance of rubber processing machinery, with responsibility for both preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance. Key Responsibilities: Preventive Maintenance • Execute and ensure compliance with the Preventive Maintenance (PM) calendar • Carry out scheduled inspections, lubrication, alignment, tightening, and part replacement • Maintain PM checklists, machine logs, and maintenance records • Identify early warning signs of wear, vibration, noise, or overheating to prevent failures Breakdown & Emergency Maintenance • Attend and resolve emergency breakdowns with minimum downtime • Diagnose root causes of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions • Coordinate with production teams to safely restore machines to operation Mechanical Maintenance Scope Hands-on experience of maintenance of rubber processing machinery, including: • Mixing Mills • Intermixers • Rubber Dispersion Kneaders • Extrusion Lines • Injection Moulding Machines • Gear systems and gearboxes • Bearings, couplings, shafts, and seals • Chains, belts, pulleys, and drives • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems (basic level) Utilities & Support Systems (Preferred) • Basic understanding of boilers and steam transfer systems • Exposure to steam traps, strainers, pipelines, valves, and autoclaves • Support safe operation and routine checks of boiler-related equipment (where applicable) Electrical Exposure (Secondary) • Basic ability to identify and support minor electrical issues • Electrical knowledge is a plus, but the role is primarily mechanical Safety & Housekeeping • Follow plant safety procedures and lock-out/tag-out practices • Maintain tools, spares, and work area in an organized manner • Support safety audits and continuous improvement activities= Qualification & Experience • ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant trade • 5–8 years experience in maintenance of rubber, plastics, or heavy manufacturing machinery • Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with ability to work under breakdown pressure • Willingness to stay in company provided accomodation, on Campus.
