Kafka Senior Linux Administrator

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional with strong expertise in Linux system administration, CDC (Change Data Capture) technologies, and Apache Kafka. The ideal candidate will manage Linux environments, build real-time data pipelines, ensure infrastructure reliability, and support high-performance data streaming systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesLinux System Administration

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Linux servers and applications.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and lead incident response for critical infrastructure failures.
• Manage server, storage, and network configurations including firewalls, load balancers, and security controls.
• Implement security best practices, perform regular audits, and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
• Automate routine tasks using Bash, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Set up monitoring tools, analyze logs, and optimize system performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior administrators.

CDC & Apache Kafka Engineering

• Design, build, and maintain real-time data pipelines using CDC tools (Debezium, GoldenGate, etc.).
• Configure and manage Kafka clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and secure data streaming.
• Create and optimize Kafka topics, partitions, consumer groups, and retention strategies.
• Integrate Kafka with Hadoop, Spark, cloud storage, and other data platforms.
• Develop stream-processing applications using Kafka Streams, KSQL, Flink, or related frameworks.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across CDC and Kafka systems.
• Implement monitoring, error-handling, and documentation for data workflows.
• Provide technical support to data engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux environments (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Proficiency in automation tools (Ansible, Puppet) and virtualization technologies.
• Advanced scripting skills (Bash, Python).
• Deep experience with Apache Kafka, stream processing, and CDC tools (Debezium, GoldenGate).
• Knowledge of distributed systems and cloud-based data platforms.
• Preferred certifications: RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, Kafka certifications, or Data Engineering certifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and collaborative mindset.

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
